GMAT Test
The GMAT Test is a computerized adaptive test broken up into four sections. The majority of the questions are multiple choice. The questions are broken up into categories based on the difficulty level. If you answer a question correctly, you will get a more difficult question. If you answer it incorrectly, it will give you an easier question. This is Adaptive Testing.
The four sections that make up the GMAT are Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Verbal, and Quantitative.
Types of Questions
The first part of the test is the essay section or the Analytical Writing Assessment. In the essay section, you will be expected to analyze an argument, and you’ll be given 30 minutes to complete it.
The Integrated Reasoning Section you will be given 30 minutes to complete 12 questions. These 12 questions will come from either Graphic Interpretation, Table Analysis, Two-Section Analysis, or Multi-Source Reasoning.
The Quantitative Section will give you 75 minutes and 37 questions. Each question is multiple choice with five different possible answers. The Quantitative Section will have Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency questions.
Finally, in the Verbal Section, they will be 41 questions with multiple choice answer possibilities and you will be given 75 minutes to complete the section. The types of questions in this section will include Sentence Correction Questions Critical Reasoning Questions and Reading Comprehension Questions.
